KY's controversial county clerk, who has been divorced three times, is
now in custody for refusing to carry out the civic duty she sworn in.
All public servants must separate the duties they are carrying from what
they have in their hearts. Kim Davis obviously failed her duty while
she keeps putting compensated benefit in her pocket.
Many
conservatives portray the judgement and her imprisonment as assault of
human rights. But those conservatives clearly miss the fact that Kim
has been continued to allow to keep her faith in heart as much as she
wants while serving imprisonment; without anyone's harassment at all.
I am not a fan of homosexuality and not going to glorify it. But we all
must know we must carry out our sworn-in duties to the best as we are
being paid.
It coincided with Holy Father's temporary relaxation of
heavily tainted abortion restriction in catholic faith. While many
applause this groundbreaking announcement, some still are cautious about
endorsing his statement.
Burmese government's recently enacted
largely controversial new marriage restriction law is deeply flawed in
many ways. The law seems to protect Buddhism practicing Burmese women
from being abused by spouses with different faiths. But it actually bars
the right and equality of marriage. It even will complicate the trust
between two married or the process of marriage between two individuals
down the road. Both government and public will face the imminent threat
of inter-racial and inter-faith conflicts if the law continues to exist.
While the rest of the world is in forward-looking cultural dynamic,
Burma is heading backward on it own in the direction that is not
prepared to. The Myanmar Government's discriminatory law and public's backward consensus is now heading into the deeply divided nation!
