Visit of President U Thein Sein of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar / U.S. Assistance‏ (May 20, 2013)

President U Thein Sein's ground breaking trip all the way to Washington DC and meeting with president Obama laid a milestone with awe not only to the the world but also to the ASEAN Community. Now Burma is at the crossroad to the ultimate norms of international community. Once hostile to the the west, Burma has proven it has regained its popularity. With much left to be done, the meeting iterates the (8) areas that badly needed by the country for almost century: transparent with free and fair forthcoming election in 2015, reestablishment of Fulbright program that nurture world-known intellectuals, promoting partnership in education system, assistance in health data management system which has never been installed in the nation's healthcare sector, humanitarian assistance both in terms of kind and cash to hardly accessible regions, acceleration of lifting of economic sanction, boosting energy sector and establishment of universal broadband network for the entire nation.
It is noted the United States Government uses the term "Myanmar" for the very first time!
The State Department noted sustainability of the 'good governance' and 'transparency' is the commitment the current government has to demonstrate.
It is no doubt Burma becomes model showcase to the world's hostile countries who still suppress their own citizens and leave their nation in the dark-side. The western leaders now indicate to learn the lessons from Burma's smoothest and drastic transition.
Burma's government, legislative and political groups must realize nationalistic ideology alone is not the surviving instrument in nation building. Burma urgently needs technocrats in various areas. The force of technical/professional development comes from within. While outsourcing the advanced and modern technology from the outside world, the responsible government officials at the top level must accept the fact that you can still nurture your own executives and mid-level professionals who are already in place at various department. They should be allowed to be in touch with the world with no limit/restriction.
Both existing majority USDP and minority NLD and other ethnic party members must start working hard with hands-in-hands in nation building process.
Now is the time to set aside the views of ideological, ethnic and religious differences.
