Are we heading into Sectarian Buddhism?‏

Dear Friends
World leading media networks are often plausible in making the news highest public attention! Examples are BBC/VOA and DVB were once overwhelmingly in everyone's life in Burma during 1988 uprising. Burmese military dictators used to accuse them for driving the people nuts with fabricated news: standard rebuttal of Burmese government: groundless. Nevertheless, they lead the daily lives of most grass-roots in Burma; believe it or not.
Now those networks including CNN (world renowned news media giant) has been profiling the current ongoing and escalating religious/racial conflicts as "sectarian Buddhism", "Radical Buddhism" and/or "Buddhist extremists". We all need to understand all these media networks maintain their highest images in choosing one's incident and tagging such titles.
It really worries me such ongoing conflicts will dwell the lives of our beloved countrymen.
I really worry such ongoing unrest will slow down the democratization process (that we all deserve for decades/century) led by President Thein Sein and Nobel Laureate Aung San Su Kyi.
Now is the time to wake up and understand we all are human-beings regardless of background, origin, color, ethnic, faith and society in this One World. (I was relieved when I saw a picture of a young Buddhist monk handing food to a Muslim - posted on Irrawaddy Online few days ago)
Everyone deserves to be part of the family of Burma and must have full access to the rights provided by the laws stipulated by the Constitution of Burma (Myanmar) and Universal Declaration of United Nations.

  1. Dear All,
I always believe in multicurture, non-sexist and color-blinded vibrant democracy enjoyed by civilised societies. Now we say it the global villages.
Burma had sufferred enough, more than its share, under the cruelty of military dictatorship.
During the reign of late General Ne Win, during the rice shortage, he drummed up the people to show their angers towards the Chinese minorities. The score of Chinese were killed or maimed by the carnage successfully used/ abused by the dictator. The dictators had tried the similar tactics successfully against the minority indian decents. Whenever the country slided down into trouble, the racial cards is deployed by the dictators as a surest way the keep the tight grip on life and death of people.
The General Than Shwe had instructed his followers to take the power if the country goes into uncontrolled situation. His followers are carefully creating the martial law situations in Burma to re-establish military rule.
The majority must join hands with whatever minority to derail the plan of the dictators.
Burma needs Rule of Law, the effective law enforcement circles of magistrates, prosecutors, barristers and police.
None must be above the law.
Corruption must be wiped out from Burma.
    All must respect each others.
Disrespect for diversity, equality; discriminations of race, religion, atheists, sex, sexual orientation, political belief, disabilities are CRIME.
Now I am worry about democratic process in Burma.
    Y Win
