Open Letter to the U.S. Congress

This renewed proposal by the Congress has worded with the same old fashionable terms that prescribed before. The West and The U.S. should understand Myanmar has demonstrated outstandingly in drastic democratization process in today's modern world; especially in the eastern hemisphere. It is the genuine mission of the Government of Myanmar led by Thein Sein and will continue regardless of any support. We have witnessed series of nations (in or outside the region of Myanmar) that turn chaotic even in the plight of modernization of their nations growth. None can expect to meet the ultimate goal (we all desire) in few years. As a Myanmar (Burmese), I truly believe the current government has a greatest task on its shoulder to discharge the ultimate duty to meet the interest of all our nationals and minority ethnic groups.
The Proposal itself dictates the demands that are already working on by the Myanmar Government. Multilateral communications and coordination meetings are taking place with the high momentum at the national/regional levels; like never before. We acknowledge that there are much to be done. We fully understand mindset of personals at all different levels in Union and regional governments need to be changed accordingly. All our laws (including the Constitution) need to meet the international norms. The President's official website has launched the updates in series of Constitutional amendment efforts. Our people (including minority ethnic armed groups) and government are actively and aggressively looking for common grounds that will end the decades long armed insurgencies which occurred with the birth of the nation. And we are almost there! People lived with fears daily in the past. Look at the streets of urban and suburb and will find people's lives are getting eased with tensions.
The President Thein Sein has outlined his vision of "No U-turn" at his very first days of his office. Sanctions have proven to be unsuccessful in today's world history. Many nations failed due to this negligent act. Let's get to the reality that democratization cannot be overnight. Interruption of any kind of support is not the solution. "Pressure" has no room in maintaining the regional security.
We should strongly oppose this 'same set of orchestra' that will never produce benefit to any party involved.
